Hey everyone!
I’m super excited to have stumbled across this forum! I’ve been diving deep into sustainable living and I had this thought that I couldn’t wait to share and discuss with you all.
So, I’ve been pondering about the intersection of traditional crafts and sustainable living. Specifically, how we can revitalize old-school, sustainable crafting techniques in our modern lives. For example, techniques like basket weaving, natural dyeing, or soap making - not just for the sake of preservation, but to genuinely integrate them into our everyday lives as a viable, eco-friendly alternative to some mass-produced goods.
Are there any specific traditional crafts that you’ve incorporated into your sustainable lifestyle? How do you find they compare with modern conveniences, in terms of both effort and environmental impact? And, perhaps most importantly, how can we make these crafts accessible and appealing to communities that might not traditionally engage in them?
I’d love to hear your ideas and any resources you might have come across to help people get started with these crafts. Maybe creating a directory of workshops, online classes, or community groups dedicated to these practices? Looking forward to an enlightening discussion!
Thanks so much!
