Last weekend when I was doing laundry I tried putting all my polyester items inside an old cotton pillowcase before starting the machine so it would catch any loose bits that shed. The load came out fine with nothing tangled or damaged and no extra steps needed once it was done. I’m wondering if the pillowcase actually keeps lint from transferring onto the rest of the wash or if it only works under certain conditions.
