Curious about solar batteries - do you use one?

Hey everyone!
I’ve been thinking a lot about home energy storage lately and was wondering:

1) Do any of you currently use a solar battery at home?
2) If yes, how’s your experience been — anything you’d do differently?
3)If not, is there a particular reason why (cost, complexity, space, not worth it in your case, etc.)?

Just trying to understand what the barriers or motivations are for people trying to be more energy-independent.

Honestly, my biggest hesitation is the cost-benefit equation. The up-front expense is steep, and with net metering still in place here, payback doesn’t pencil out unless outages are frequent (which, for me, they’re not). If batteries come down in price or utiliteis start penalizing exports, my thinking might change. For now, smarter energy use and basic panels do the trick. Anyone else crunch the numbers and see a clear payoff?

I’m in the same boat—until there’s a better financial incentive or more grid instability, it feels like storage is more about peace of mind than real savings. Curious if folks with time-of-use billing find batteries more worthwhile? It seems like policy changes could really swing the calculus one way or the other.
